Each January, spinners gather at the Lindenwood Retreat Center in Plymouth, Indiana, for a fiber-filled weekend together. Swift member Debbie Squire shares a bit about the weekend:
The last weekend in January saw spinners from across Indiana, Illinois, and several enthusiastic people from Michigan gather again at the Lindenwood Retreat Center for the annual spinners retreat. Spinners arrived after lunch on Friday and immediately set up and began spinning for their latest project. It was so nice to see friends from far away and to make make new friends. On Saturday, we visited Moontree Studios, which is just a short walk from the retreat center.
Susan Markle of the Trading Post brought part of her shop for those that needed just one more pretty fiber to try or add to their stash. Kate Larson spent a lot of her spinning time helping others who had maintenance issues with their wheel or who were having trouble spinning their fiber. She also gave a class on the three types of Leicester sheep. We then received a sample of each to card or comb and spin. We are so fortunate to have among our midst someone with so much knowledge who is willing to share it.
